Audiology Assistant

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine clean and check appointments and annual hearing evaluations for established patients
- Manage hearing aid care for walk-in patients
- Conduct service and repair appointments, including fitting loaner devices during manufacturer repairs and recommending updated technology when appropriate
- Troubleshoot hearing aid issues, including Bluetooth and other connectivity concerns
- Recommend and dispense assistive listening devices and hearing aid accessories
- Manage inventory of stock and demonstration hearing devices
- Process paperwork related to new hearing aid orders, earmold orders, and hearing aid repairs
- Receive and process all incoming hearing aid repairs and assemble new hearing aid orders; notify front office staff when patients are ready to be scheduled
- Perform cognitive screenings as part of annual assessments for established patients
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documenting phone calls, entering outcome notes for every appointment, and sending physician reports following hearing evaluations
- Maintain and order laboratory supplies and front-office point-of-sale items
- Carry out infection control procedures for lab surfaces and clinical instruments
- Participate in health fairs, lunch-and-learn events, and other community outreach activities
- Conduct outbound patient calls as requested
- Assist with physician marketing efforts as directed by the audiologist
- Answer overflow incoming calls and schedule patient appointments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment
- Perform miscellaneous tasks and special projects as assigned by the audiologist
Position Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Interest in healthcare, audiology, or patient care; prior experience is helpful but not required
- Willingness to learn hearing aid technology, clinical procedures, and patient care workflows
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-first mindset
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and basic technology
- Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy clinical environment
- Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small healthcare team
